The Mephisto collection contains more than 600,000 unique live and studio images, both colour and black and white depicting the Parisian Jazz scene along with more recent soul, fusion and popular music from around the world. Images date from the Birdland show at Pleyel in 1956 featuring Miles Davis and Lester Young to the present day. Incorporating such renowned talent as Oscar Peterson, Fats Domino, Al Green, Nina Simone, Dizzy Gillespie and Curtis Mayfield.

In 1985 Didier Ferry and Yves Carrere formed Mephisto along with the work of 15 other celebrated photographers to form a unique and invaluable body of work.
